Need help selecting a new cab

I am looking for a new cabinet. Play mostly fingerstyle, with a little slap that is done very poorly :rolleyes: Looking for a cab that is very warm with a lot punch to it. I have been an Eden user for years and am quite happy with them as far as performance goes, but just checking to see if there is something out there I am overlooking.

I play a mixture of venues from large (750-1000+) to some smaller church (where my rig will only be a stage monitor) and coffee house gigs.

I am leaning towards an Eden 210xst with a 212xlt, or a Bergantino HT210 with an HT212. I figure that would give me the flexibility I need.

It will be powered by a BBE BMax-T into a QSC PLX 1202

If you like the Eden tone, that 210XST is a wonderful cab, and much superior to the 210XLT IMO... smaller, louder, more even, better low end extension. Two 210XST's with a WT550 is an awesome rig (again, if you dig the Eden tone).

The Berg stack you are considering is really nice, but much different sounding than the Eden... wider, cleaner, smoother... not better or worse, but quite different.

Actually, to my ear, even lower. However, that cab (again IMO) does not have the mid punch and presence of the XST line (much less the XLT). It's also quite a large and heavy 210, but again, it sounds great, especially if you are looking for a very clean, somewhat hi fi, studio monitor like tone... very clean, and that low crossed over big horn really gives the upper range of that cab a 'pristine' tone versus the somewhat more growly Eden cabs.

IMO and IME there.

From what I understand (and from my experience with the previous version of that cab...SA210), the new Berg HS210 is a totally different story (regular non hi xmax speakers and a smaller, higher crossed over tweeter), and would be closer in voicing to the 210XST from the reviews I've read.

Consider me partial!

But I think the DR. BASS 2460 would be the way you want to go! 2-12" and a 6" mid and tweeter!

I used mine in 3000 seat auditorium for Worship and they didn't even need to run me thru the mains! But, it also sounds VERY GOOD at lower levels too!
