Need help with string alignment. PICTURES INCLUDED.

What you could do (although it would be extremely cumbersome for no functional gain), is figure out where the saddles should be (they can be shifted slightly side-to-side) and file some grooves for the set screws, like you can see here:

I'm thinking the position of his saddles isn't the problem per se, the position of the grooves in them is - and the grooves can be moved/altered easy-peasy with a triangular file, taking more off the side toward the direction he needs to go. That and the holes in the end of bridge which are definitely too close together - that should probably be attended to first so the strings quit getting a bow in them between saddles and end.. With the saddle grooves and the end plate holes lined up there is no need for grooves for the set screws.

I'd agree that bridge was the wrong one for that bass - probably 1mm closer spacing than original.

Time to take that bass out back and shoot it. It's suffered enough.

It just needs new saddles. No filing, drilling, or shooting is necessary.

MErcy killing. A new saddle cannot resurrect a dead horse. Fresh round saddles would be a good starting point for someone who knew *** was going on.

it's fine. there's thousands of jazz basses out there with pickups/strings that don't line up properly. now, in the words of Frank Zappa "shut up and play yer guitar!"

They look fine, the magnetic field is not pinpointed directly in the center of the pole pieces. What about this is so frustrating? (Besides reading these absurd responses about flipping and filing saddles.)

Well guess what guys, i managed to fix all the problems with the bass so now it is a custom squire j bass with DR Highbeams and it sounds amazing and i did it with only spending 40 dollars and no mistakes. I could have paid a tech do it for 120 dollars but i work at nathan's hot dogs for only 8.00 and hour and i'm looking to save for my first car and motorcycle since I am now 16. Thanks for the advice and have a great day my fellow bassists!

Yep that black hardware looks nice in that bass! Now you need a white ir cream pearl pick guard. I just put a black pearl on my VMJ.
Notice how my strings don't line up with the poles either, meh.
