Need some expert advice on my next buy

Hi all!

I just joined today and am eager to get your guys opinion.
I just started playing bass this past December when I bought a super cheep bass just to get learning. Sooo now im already iching to buy a new bass :). Im a poor college student so I can't spend much but music is my fuel so I think I can round up $300-500. I have been to the local music stores but they dont have much for basses and nothing there really impressed me. Maybe im being weird but i kind of want to stay away from fender because i feel that just everyone has one. Oh and one more question I tried looking in a lot of places to find the bass i currently have and am starting to think its just a no name but has anyone heard of a CC Clark haha

When you mentioned your price range, the names "Schecter" and "Ibanez" immediately came to mind. Those both make pretty decent basses for the price. I can tell you that I've personally played the Schecter Stiletto Extreme-4 bass (my friend's) and it was pretty good for $380 he paid.

i would recommend u at least having a decent amp

bassman 150's are great and are 450$ brandnew

maybe get that amp^ and if your bass is a p bass copy some seymour duncan quarter pound pick ups in for 65$ and u have a good set up

i play a cort pbass copy and those seymour duncans are exactly what i plan to do..

i recently picked up a GK 1001 rbII head with 2 4x10 rbx cabs.. u can definitly tell i'm playing a cheap bass now that i have a good rig.

long story short, any suggestions for a price range of around $1000

i recently played a geddy lee signature model.. WoW is all i have to say, but i'm looking for other suggestions too

Schecter Stiletto is a great looking/playing/sounding bass for the price
