Need to vent.....

control the unwanted animal population Leave the Muppet's out of this.

In my primary gig, a worship team, I am the bad musician, the band leader provides me direction. The BL still depends on me to do my best. He asks that continue to play when the group goes accapella (sorry about the spelling). My view on bass playing is: If you're not there, then something is missing. If you're there, then to need to add to group.

In reality, that group needs a leader, and not a manager. I really hope you can maintain the friendships that were formed in the Second Band.

In my secondary gig, Freddy and the Hipbreakers, we are a bunch of seniors that get together to provide a good time for the center. Do we have egos sure, but Alzheimers mean we forget transgressions really fast.
Do we play well? probably not, Do we sound good? probably not, But people dance, they cheer. they don't want us to quit. We are asked when are playing again. We have been asked to play at another center. We have groupies that will join us on the bus trip to the other center. (Now if can get some roadies)
As a matter of fact, we are putting together a grant to properly outfit the center for worst band of the SouthWest. We are looking for an amp, mixing board microphones, cables, DI boxes. A previous grant several years ago provides a couple of large "Voice of the Theater cabinets.
One of the members travels internationally playing music, another supplements his retirement with coffee house appearances, and senior center entertainment. The keyboardist does an occasional bar or two.
What more can a band ask for "WE ARE LOVED we are wanted"
