Sorry guys, I just got up and see my horrendous mistake, I don't know how I could have done that but my nephew came over last night with some good wine, that has to be the cause of my spelling mistake and extend my heartfelt condolences for my grievous error. The bottom line? Doesn't matter if we like them or not. It only matters if you like them or not. Plenty of accomplished bass players have played Ric's. You need to play a few, and make the choice.

I buy a 4001 or 4003 Rick, I like it a lot, I get tired of it, I sell it.
I have done this three times over the last 30 years.
I am currently on Rick #4 and I plan on keeping this one until I die.
They have a look I like and a fairly unique sound.
Do I wish 4003 Ricks were more ergonomic and had updated electronics and hardware? Yes.
But they are what they are. If it's for you, then they're for you. The only way to know is to play one.
