Neural DSP Quad Cortex on bass

I’m pretty impressed by what I’ve seen from demos the last few days. The ability to capture pedals and route them however you want is pretty badass. There are some tones I’ve put together using dual signal paths that just aren’t practical to use live onstage because so often it’s a pain to get two channels of bass in the PA. Also something I didn’t see until this past week is how tones can be shared. For example check out how quickly and close Nathan Navarro gets to the muse hysteria tone just by searching for and downloading a tone Doug dialed in. A tone bass players have talked about for years and he gets it going on like 20 seconds. Also I play with a guitarist that uses a fractal and this thing seems way more easy to dial in. The guitarist I play with literally brings a laptop to practice just to be able to tweak tones because it’s such a pain to do on the actual unit

I'm really trying to think of a reason why not to buy one of these. The 4 paths with good drives and crossover is a huge selling point for me.

I'm not seeing much with the modulation (or I'm missing it); how are the modulation effects? Does it have a good chorus that works with bass? Phaser? How good is the Mu-Tron "uTron Auto Wah" emulation?

Also I tried looking up downloads for it like the Kemper has, and while I found some fee based patches I didn't see user patches. Is there a site for these that I am overlooking?

Can this be used as just an effects processor for use with a regular bass amp or is amp emulation a requirement for use?

Anything to watch out for regarding durability?

I have a Quad Cortex and am using it for bass. The pitch shifter is the worst I've ever had. Cannot for the life of me get a good tone out of it and the tracking is dreadful. I was excited to setup scenes for virtual capo. Not happening. Can do it on Helix no problem.

Seems like the Quad Cortex is pretty polarizing among people who have bought it. Agreed on the Poly Capo on the Helix though, it's great! It rivals the final generation of the DigiTech pitch shifting algorithm which I've always really liked.
