The Neutrik locking jack on my Ibanez BTB is crackling really loud when I move slightly. It isn't the cable. I checked the connection and the wires are not undone inside. Any ideas on how to fix this without wasting $50 at Guitar Center?

Get one on line for about $13. I just replaced the one in my BTB675 for the exact same reasons. Got it off Amazon. Switched to an all-black jack because it matched the rest of the bass better - if that matters.
Thanks. I removed it and tinkered with it a couple times and fixed the majority of the problem. It's not a permanent fix but it will hold me over and stop sending harmful pops through my speakers for now. Gonna consider that replacement next time it happens though.
Just so you know, the wires on the jack cable can be soldered, and there still exist a problem with it. Its done it on mine. Its a crappy connection from the solder point to the tip of the jack.

I brought a new barrel jack and same thing still happen when I move the cable( itry with all cables I have)
What exactly cause this? I just went downtown just to get 15 $ jack...

1. Clean the plug and with some alcohol
2. Check the wiring inside the plug
3. Check the wiring inside the guitar
i already did wiring correctly , sound comes out... i think the barrel is still very tight, i wonder what cause this still,

If your bass has been used a lot, it's possible the mating surfaces on the jack are shot. Over time, the plating get scratched and won't make a good connection.
Replace it with Male XLR. I did last april. Now I can jump around and no crackling whatsoever. More details similar post few days ago.
All 1/4" phone plugs are not made the same shape. Since the over-seas companies started making them there are more shapes than you can shake whatever at. Best to take your bass to the store and find a cable with ends that fit the best. IME I've never had problems with Switchcraft unless they were old, worn out or abused.

I know this post is old, however if it helps... I recently bought an Ibanez 6Sting BTB with a Neutrik locking jack. I hadn't notice buzz or clicking while playing live, however at home practicing I walked away from my amp while plugged in and there it was... I could get the jack to click and scratch by wiggling it. Cables were all screwed tight and wouldn't click on my other basses. After reading this post I realized I was using older cables to practice (generic cables from Guitar store). When I replaced that cable with a newer MusicMan guitar cable I could no longer get the Neutrik jack to click or make any scratch noise at all while moving the cable aggressively while in the jack. So in my case it was the cable head on the lower end cables not being exactly the right size for the Neutrik jack. Thanks ErnieBall!.... Just my 2 cents. - Jimmy
You nailed your issue.
This is a good case of those GC cables equipped with 1/4" connectors made by no telling who.
I don't know what 1/4" connectors come on the Music Man cables, but it's a safe bet they are Switchcraft.
