New 0xEAE Bass Driver

Yeah…this was the second time today i got trolled on the innerweb. I got an email notification from EAE about the Boost. Went to yootoob to check it out, and the vids feature the DRIVE, not the Boost. I like the Drive. A lot! I was considering buying the Boost, not realizing the vids id caught were actually the Drive. Also, the Baseball show i was watching in the morning flashed at the bottom of the screen the Orioles picked up Luis Castillo from the Mariners for cash. I thought- thats INSANE! Luis Castillo is the Mariner’s ACE! ….The Orioles did, indeed pick up Luis Castillo from the Seattle Mariners. Luis F Castillo, NOT Luis M Castillo. Luis F Castillo has appeared in two major league games with an ERA of 7.75, and a WHIP of 2.7. I gotta cut back on the Bloody Marys before noon.

For those that have one, what's yalls thoughts on the Attack control? That really stood out for me on the demos, a lot of good stuff in that.

What has this replaced for you? I just want to live vicariously at this time as I wait for the regular enclosure size run :)
It’s replaced all of my dirt pedals except for the newly arrived Peavey Decade pedal, which is for guitar.

The attack control is great, brings the clank.

The tone comes from the Obstructures enclosure 😜

To my ears, the Attack delivers jangly highs and clang. Depending on the Drive level, I like how it brings out the distorted high end. The attack and grind is so good!

Finally was able to play with it with guitar and drums last night. Awesome pedal on its own. But it won't replace the Rusty Box though. The Boost on the Rusty Box is what makes it unique imho. Not for the sound it gives by itself, but I use it off and on several times in various songs to go heavier.
I found the boost to be redundant personally as the volume jump was just too significant. That's fair enough though! Maybe something to request if they do release in a separate enclosure.

Speaking of boosts, I finally got around to experimenting with the Bass Driver in preamp mode. It wakes up and responds nicely to the Benson Ge Boost and/or tube driven with the Edison. Makes me appreciate just how amp-like it is. It also handles dirt and fuzz like a champ. ..I still prefer using it as my main dirt and combining it with thicker drives for heavier tones, though. Textural, defined, and fierce in the mix...
It’s such a killer design and its awesome that John is continuing the circuit in regular sized enclosures so more bassists can get their hands on one.

The Bass Driver is basically my entire bass tone now, using as a preamp. The treble and bass controls are so powerful.

Just got a Crazy Tube Venus so tried my best to make my board more compact, needless to say it wasn't a success:

So I'm back to a larger Rockboard 3.0:

The HX One, Dagger and OC5 are surplus to my current needs but I'd rather the extra bulk than the eyesore of having lots of stuff sideways!

I think John said the Fuzz would be the first compact 0xEAE pedal to be released hopefully with the Bass Driver not far behind. I'll be keeping the obelisk of clanky doom that is the 0xEAE Bass Driver though, its a work of art.
