nice aren't you the one who has an Obstructures bass btw? let us know how it pairs I'd also be interested to know your full setup btw. I was eyeing the prototype a few years ago but eventually I didn't followup... but looks like they're producing the final version in 2025.

I traded the Obstructures bass to a pal, around a year & a half ago. I’ve since acquired a Travis Bean Designs TB2000 and put together an EGC/TBD bolt on neck build to scratch the aluminum itch.
I loved the Obstructures bass but it was a heavy beast and wasn’t getting the play it deserves.

Yes, and it is indeed glorious! I’ve only tried it out with my Bean, hot damn there’s just so much tasty gain on tap with this circuit. Looking forward to running it with my other basses this weekend, will report back.

I got mine yesterday. I just spent about two hours with it. It's perfect, heavy, punchy, clanky and amazing. It's also easily micro adjustable with three sliders shaping your tone (not counting the volume slider). I played three different basses through it. I'm not missing a full EQ at all. The TS-50B is my favorite bass circuit for rock. I have 4 others. An original Rusty Box, Broughton Helion , Noise Space Audio Elephant and a "1978" rack mount pre with a bass boost and 10 band graphic EQ. That one's my go to. 1978 was the first year of the TS amps therefore the name. The builder, Jason Zdora, traced the circuit and added the bass boost (pull pot) and graphic EQ with a 20hz slider. The original 120B and 50B were a little light in the lows. This OxEAE is not. I haven't compared it to any of these three other pedals or my pre today or opened it up to switch on the notch filter and try it as a pre into a power amp. I'm looking forward to that though. As a standalone drive/dirt pedal it's definitely going to make some other pedals I own collect dust. It's so good.

I agree, I am lucky! I came across that video by chance and reached out to Jason. I recall he had two chassis left out of the first ten he built and mine is one of those. He had ordered 10 more chassis to build another run of ten. And that's all there are. He was working on a pedal version at one time too but I don't think it went past the prototype stage. There's a video of that on YouTube as well. Jason's a great guy. He said he may get back to building more of them someday. He also told me both Albini and Bob Weston bought one as well. I've gotta say though that I was able to dial up a great tone much like the one in the video in less than 30 seconds yesterday with the OxEAE running into a Quilter BB803. I've yet to try it with the notch filter engaged and bypassing the amp's EQ.

I already had the boost and fuzz so the driver completed my trifecta. I am surprised at how great of an overdrive the boost is for bass.

I flipped the mids notch switch today and ran it into a power amp. Sublime. It's perfect, and again so micro adjustable. The slightest adjustment on the drive, bass or attack slider makes a noticeable difference.

Haven't tried flipping the switch. If running into a preamp, do you think it's worth it?

I only tried it with the switch flipped through a power amp today so it's hard to say. I think it's worth a comparison.

I find I prefer the latter to the former in all aspects except for the pedal board real estate required and the position of the sliders which I’ve mentioned previously.
