That isn't confusing at all... their products also look similar style wise, only another hardcore bass nerd will be able to tell the difference.
Why would you sell a product so it can be destroyed, only to end up re-using the name yourself... doesn't seem to make good business sense to me.
To each their own.
On the plus side, Acoustic USA does deal outside of the US, specifically Canada.
I also read this on the Canadian website, the head will not be $4,000, it will actually be pretty reasonable for a big ole tube head.

The Acoustic company who sells at Guitar Center owns the name, Acoustic USA is an entirely separate company who probably pays a licensing fee to be able to use the name for their product. There's no "re-using" the name.
And, as far as I know, the acoustic 360/361 is solid state, not tube. And the 360 is just the preamp for the 361, which has the poweramp in the cab itself.
