Finally was able to acquire a 2nd Aguilar SL110 cabinet. The chocolate brown which would match my other SL110 has been discontinued, so I went with the fawn. The chocolate and fawn actually look pretty awesome together. Running 2 of these cabinets together through my Genzler Kinetix 800 power head ran chills down my spine. These little cabinets have definition that would embarrass a good percentage of bass cabinets out there at any price, including some of Aguilars other offerings. The Kinetix is an 800 watt power head at 4 ohms with a tube preamp section running three 12 AX7 at 300 volts. I didn't baby the little Aguilars with the Kinetix one bit and they held together beautifully. Using my Fender Pro 2 precision with standard Fender round wound strings there were times I could swear a Stienway grand piano was right there in my living room, absolutely glorious and at a volume level that nearly caused my ear drums to bleed in the large living area. I'm still amazed at how much bottom end authority these little speakers have, and now with the additional SL110 it's even more substantiated. I'm not sure how well 2 of these would do in a live outdoor setting but with PA support it doesn't really matter. If you wanted to, you could even give 3 cabinets a try if your amp goes down to 2.67 ohms, I bet that would be a thunderous little set up. For recording purposes these would be hard to surpass and no tweeter to mess with. If you're on the fence about these little cabinets I'd give them a try before Aguilar decides to discontinue them altogether, perhaps because of not enough profit in it for them. They lowered the price from $700 to $630 likely because of competition and lack of sales, the chocolate has already been discontinued. Sweetwater doesn't even stock them any longer, you have to special order them. Just saying.
