New amp - some questions

Hello,

First of all, I'm sorry if my questions are kind of frequently asked, but I did some research so I hope you can answer with only yes or no :smug:
(just don't RTFM me, we're talking Orange here :D - they don't come with any information)

The new amp is an Orange Terror Bass. I'm still awaiting a GS112 cab, which I think should make a nice first gig-worthy rig.

First question; I read some amplifiers like the Little Mark series have a DI level pot, but how is the output level controlled on amps without such a knob? Is it controlled by the preamp gain or is it fixed, or... ?

Other question; I'm familiar with tube amps and I know you can't run them without a load, but since the TB has got a solid state final, you can perfectly run the amp without a cab, right?
As far as I know (I can be wrong), the amp hasn't got an output trannie.
So, that means I can still record some sounds of it using the DI with only a XLR to mini-jack cable straight into the laptop, without a cab/load hooked up?

Last one - when you play a gig with PA support and they DI you, will you still have sound trough your cabs or is it cut like a headphones-out? Heard some things like stage bleed so I guess your cabs keep working? Like, the preamp gain controls the DI-level and the master will set the volume for the cabs?

Sorry for those noobish questions but hey, we all started somewhere :D.
Thanks in advance!

I might do some soundclips if you like...

Usually those with fixed outputs are fixed at a level high enough to be controlled by the mixing board's input gain controls. The FOH/Mix Engineer will control it for you.

yep. The SS-Poweramp doesn't need an output transformer and can safely be run without any load. The tubey preamp has its load built-in, it's the SSs poweramp. ;)

yes & yes
