save your money and get the Acoustic B200 for $350. 200-Watts, 1-15" Speaker w/ Tweeter, and 6-Band EQ. I've played one at GC and it's fan-frickin-tastic!!! Really, they are truly amazing for the price. I'm saving up for one right now!!

They sound esepcially amazing with a Jazz bass, which I can see you own.

Without PA support your bass sound would have a tough time be heard in a mix of a loud drummer and one or two loud bass players using that GK config. But if you are doing less louder gigs, it should be fine. Or if you have PA support, then you don't even need to drag with you a stack, a small combo is fine.

Yep. Also, if you are on a budget, get an Avatar cab (the price/performance ratio is excellent) and a used amp head from craigslist or so, 300-500W. Then upgrade either components later when you are getting gig money.

If I only had $300 to spend, I would definitely get something used. If you want to be able to hear yourself in a band setting, you're going to need something a little than 125w.

There are tons of awesome deals on ebay right now. Look at the Peavey TNT series for instance. There's one that's practically being given away in New Jersey:
