Loved your design. I am planning my first build and the design is also partially based on the T-40.
Contours are pretty hard to photograph.. I think I'm pretty close to done with the shaping.. I may have gotten a little carried away with the rasp but I’m happy
I threw some dye on there to find the low spots
you can really see the sweeping contour I was going for here

did some drawing on my iPhone this evening and thought maybe I’ll do this with the pickguard?
haven't decided yet but I think it balances it out.. open to thoughts
Personally I like it better without the pickguard on the upper horn. JMHO
Installed a couple things and started working on templates.. I’m leaning towards just the one pickguard

IMO what would really pop would be all black hardware. That would add just enough contrast to seal the deal. I really like the black pickguard better, but that white one with black knobs would look great and kinda Rick-ish!

Yeah the white is just paper for the template I plan is to make a black and a couple tortoise options and see which one I like best..
It does look rick-ish though and that’s kinda cool maybe I’ll make a parchment one for fun too..
I’m probably going to do some kind of knurled chrome knobs.. maybe a big aluminum Gretsch style knob..
Still thinking about paint too but leaning towards a burst still.. just so Classic and pretty option especially with all that grain!!
What about black hardware? That would look awesome with the natural finish . Then a black pearl pickguard with chrome knobs.
Looks good so far but I feel it deserves a non-fenderish headstock to do the body justice.
I was actually thinking maybe a vox-ish headstock or the something more tele
I could.. if I did anything it would be reshape what’s already there but I may not be that worried about it.. I’m still pondering the end look
Could you reshape it like this? Still Fenderish but a little sleeker look that would go better with your body I think. It's the Warmoth Warhead
What about a darker wood accent there instead of a plastic pickguard material like a Rosewood or Wenge?
