New Bass Day :) 74' Precision w/ pics!

So today I purchased a beautiful 1974 Fender Precision Bass. The bass was for sale on craigslist locally and for sale on ebay. I ended up paying $1295 and was extremely happy with what I got. The bass plays and looks beautiful! I could not be more excited. I have been gasing for a sunburst, maple, black pick guard fender for quite some time now.

I have shot a new family photo too and included a couple new purchases for the bedroom...Avalon U5, Ampeg B-100R, and Ampeg Amp Selector. I'm a very proud 22 year old haha.

The new bass should sound great Thursday night. Show is expected to draw 750-1,000.

Songs for the Deaf...what a great record. I love everything Josh is apart of...Eagles, Queens, Vultures, and his recording style is nasty...I'm a huge Arctic Monkeys fan whose bassist used to always play a 70's precision...same color scheme

I'm not usually into vintage (especially 70's) fenders, but I've got to say WOW. I don't think I could have walked away from that one, given the chance.

I didn't realize they ever made sunburst/ash P basses in the 70's. I remember a LOT of naturals, but only remember the alder sunburst bodies.

In the early 70's they're not as common as or don't seem as common, but mid 70's I see more of them.

It could be. I just don't remember them. That's around when I started playing, and I had one of the natural P basses. I used to help out at a local music store when I was a kid, but I don't ever remember seeing ash sunburst basses. They really must be kind of rare then. Much more so than the alder ones.

Eagle, I'll look through some Fender books and see what kind of ratio I can find in the 70's

Marsh, it was so easy to just go for it price wise. The '09 and '10 are at $1399.00...I'd rather have a vintage piece for a bit less
