New Bass Day! RW Precision

After countless hours of scouring the forums, weighing the pros and cons, not to mention talking with just about every bassist I know...I ordered a 50's Road Worn P bass. It was ordered from my local Fender dealer a couple weeks ago and I just picked it up Monday.

Let me throw this out there. I love the look of a worn bass and I have no issue with a relic as long as it's believable. If you don't... that's cool, just remember I didn't ask your permission or borrow money from you to purchase it, therefore your flaming will go unanswered. End of rant.

It was love at first sight with this thing. The dull fiesta red on gold is a classic combo, not to mention the light weight of this bass has me at go. The aged tuners are smooth, much smoother than the 50's P I had last year, and I like the rusty pups lol!

The factory setup was horrible as expected and the fender strings were the first to go. After a setup and fresh strings I sit and try REALLY hard to channel some Donald Duck Dunn. Lol

Just wanted to say this, if you are on the fence about a RWP, just go for it. I don't think you'll be let down.

I know, no pic no bass- warning: iPhone pic ahead-

I have the same bass....love the color and find it to be a great all around P bass for any situation. I bought mine used and it had a fantastic set up and flats already on it.
The set up was so good I've never tweaked it. It's also a light weight bass...mine is just a hair over 8 Lbs. Zero complaints on this great bass.

So how does it's sound compare to a non-Road Worn P in your opinion?

Nice bass! I'm very happy with mine (a sunburst P). Any plans to.dress it up with tugbar and covers? I did that with mine and I think it looks killer, but they also look great without 'em. Anyway, congratulations!

I adore my 2009 RW burst. Flats. Haven't done anything except put furniture felt around the pots/knobs to eliminate a funky vibration buzz from the strings. Not aggressive pickups just the way I like it. I'll never sell it. I played a 66 p bass the other day but it had horrible new rounds on it but the neck way in the same sphere.
