I had that exact bass for a while, congratulations! A less aggressive StingRay (in a good way). I could regret selling it if it had 5 strings

You need a 4 string Darkray with the darkglass stuff and a detuner and then you have it all! Great bass.

Congratulations, that is a great looking bass! It must be fantastic because it doesn't have sparkles or gold hardware and you still bought it.
The mutes, the pickup, the preamp, the feel, and the sound. It is so old school and well….smooth. It just oozes old school low end punch with a sweet rich mids. The alder body is very light weight. Most slab bodied StingRays were ash and heavy.You need a 4 string Darkray with the darkglass stuff and a detuner and then you have it all!

Thank you. I’m really impressed with the fact that all of my StingRays are well under 9lbs. and they all bring something different to the table . Contrary to popular belief, they are not one trick ponies that all sound the same and are not all boat anchors.LadyLoveStingray, you have impeccable taste in basses.

Congratulations - looks great - interested to hear the experience with the GHS bright flats. My Old Smoothie, Chocolate burst still has the strings it came with new in Oct 2016 - likely Slinky 100-45 - sounds great though. I must try some GHS flats on it - I’ve got TI flats on my Classic Ray and Elixir rounds on my Classic Sabre.
To be honest, I’m tending to use my aqua sparkle Stingray Special 4HH, with EB Slinky roundwounds for most gigs - it just sounds so good and is so flexible in sounds - I tend to use switch position 1 (bridge) and 3 (centre) only!!
