It came with the chromes on it. They are very well broken in. Probably a couple years old.
All I play is flats . My Fretless and short scale have TI Flats. My 2 Special 5’s have Ernie Ball Super Slinky ( cobalt ) .

I’ll either go with TI flats or try the Labella low tension flats . The chromes sound good too.

Try Dunlop flats, my favorite when I use flats

I like this song. As a dedicated metalhead I consider it a guilty pleasure. But dayum if that boy wore his bass any further up his chest it would be bouncing off of his chin!

Thank you. I’m really impressed with the fact that all of my StingRays are well under 9lbs. and they all bring something different to the table . Contrary to popular belief, they are not one trick ponies that all sound the same and are not all boat anchors.

I had the same thought, then recalled that the Old Smoothies were like that...I presume it has a mellowing impact on the tone, but I am not really sure. I just know...I WANTS ONE!

I plan on doing radio knobs on mine.
It’s not my usual taste but I’m loving the vintage look of the white pickguard with the chocolate burst.

I love that look. I was THIS close to pulling the trigger on a 76 Retro, but when I woke up it was sold.

The Sandberg……. Beautiful bass but I never really loved the sounds. A little too modern for my personal taste and playing style. Great bass though. The Smoothie is more to my liking .

The Smoothie is very unique and different from any other StingRay that has been produced. It’s on entirely higher level of Smooth!!

Indeed. I played my 3-band in a jazz quartet for 5 years. Strung with flats it had a great punchy sound. Very responsive to changes in technique. Beautiful bass.
