New bass help

im looking at getting a new 5 string bass, as to be honest my epiphone one is terrible, so far i quite like the look of the ibanez btb675 and the ibanez sr605........maximum price will be about 550 pounds, any help would be appreciated

ive never played any ibanez basses, all i have is an active cort c4h and a epiphone embassy, im looking for something with a full tone, and a very prominent, and clean sounding low end, something suitable for playing reggae/dub

well just a quick look, some guys on here love these

no i dont work for said company, just lazy and they were first one in my head LOL all should be under budget (they didnt have the price on the cores though), so a nice case/effect may be snagged too :P
notice no ibanez on there? i've not been a fan of them since the 90's ATK's and ergodines (luthite ones) but they do have a nice range on the site.

most of those basses will get a nice 'dub' tone especially the active ones

Let me mention the "F" word. The Fender Amer. V String P Bass is a beauty, sounds great , plays great and is worth the $$$ I paid for it. I understand that all of the others have their nitche etc. but I am pleased that I selected Fender for my first 5 string. On a lot of threads, players ask: "help me decide what to buy" when they have already made up their minds. I have never played an Ibanez 5 string and I'll try one sooner or later but the Fender V might win your heart if you get to try one.

yeah £550 wont get an american fender...... lucky to get a nice MIM or CIJ

the thing that gets me with ibanez is the baby size string spacing and necks, they feel like toys to me. dont get me wrong when played by people who like them they can sound really nice, but the SR range mainly seems rooted wayyyy too much in the shredder era
