Just finished assembling the bass for the first time.
The swamp ash gives a brighter tone than the alder,
less mellow, with a snappy attack.
The maple board also contributes a lot, making this beauty sing!
I put a 029 (High C) string on it, and it sounds good..
No, I haven't applied anything yet, and the wood is still rough.
A very talented friend of mine is going to finish this one for me with a sunburst look, just like on this Fbass.
im gonna start simple, and do things well instead of intricate and mess it up.
