I like the simplicity of the design, it's very organic looking.

Just finished assembling the bass for the first time.
The swamp ash gives a brighter tone than the alder,
less mellow, with a snappy attack.
The maple board also contributes a lot, making this beauty sing!
I put a 029 (High C) string on it, and it sounds good..

Have you finished "lacquered" the bass yet? In the pics the bass looks unfinished.

No, I haven't applied anything yet, and the wood is still rough.
A very talented friend of mine is going to finish this one for me with a sunburst look, just like on this Fbass.

im gonna start simple, and do things well instead of intricate and mess it up.

Painting the body is almost done..
It needs to get a final coat of matte polyurethane (Ilva 15% gloss).

As you can see the sunburst is a bit different from what I've planned, but I like it that way.
