Well, that's not exactly accurate. Actually I picked up a Fender 1963 Reissue Precision about a month ago. It is a 2013. A really fun bass to play! But, I have been playing 5 strings for the last 10 years or so. I start searching for 5 string precisions and I took a real liking to Fender's Antique Olive version. Well, I picked it up on Friday. I have to say, I like it. A lot. I planned a little and got a tort guard and a stealth b string retainer. Killer bass with a killer b string! I used it last night with my Super Bassman and 6x10. Thunderous bass goodness!

Ya know. I don't really care for "green" bass's personally.

But...

I like that one. It's the only one I've ever seen that appeals to me.

I'm not sure why, but I like it.... a lot.

Ironically I don't like white bass's either.

But I like that one.

I need a nap.

Awesome P's.

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with both of them. The antique olive is much more subdued in person than how it looks in the pic. The color is interesting. The last time Fender offered an interesting color, the Mystics, either blue or red, I passed even though I wanted one and now you can't find them anywhere. I couldn't let this one slip away. The 4 string is actually faded Sonic Blue. I think it is a great color and the mint guard is just right for it.
The tort guard really does a lot for that bass! Congrats on the new toys.
Thank you. The tort is a little red for my tastes. I was hoping for a little more brown, but I like the way it turned out overall. The chrome knobs and screws really pop!
The tortoise PG looks great, but wonder how an Antigua PG would look. Seen that combo on a Stratocaster and it looked pretty good.
The mint guard looks kind of washed out to me, especially with the really blonde maple neck and, frankly, I love tort!! So there it is. I'll lay the mint on it again and snap a pic.
