I have a feeling you are correct. I play mostly blues rock using either a vintage reissue 62 P-bass or a CS 64 J-bass both strung with flat wounds so I tend to like a deep, fat, and punchy sound. However, I also am looking at eventually adding a five string to the stable for more modern tones. I'm sure the 410 would be great for that, but the question is can I get both flavors from one cab? It's asking a lot I know, and of course the amp I use will be another factor. I have yet decide what model that will be so any suggestions are appreciated.
Boy, it's hard for me to suggest anything other than the Streamliner 900 by Genz-Benz. It sounds like the best answer to your tone goals (IMHO). I think that combination (STM-900/HD-410) would sound pretty righteous with both of your basses.
I can't discount the Berg cab, but I'll PM you a quote in case you want to grab both items.
