However, I also am looking at eventually adding a five string to the stable for more modern tones. I'm sure the 410 would be great for that, but the question is can I get both flavors from one cab? Boy, it's hard for me to suggest anything other than the Streamliner 900 by Genz-Benz. It sounds like the best answer to your tone goals (IMHO). I think that combination (STM-900/HD-410) would sound pretty righteous with both of your basses.

I can't discount the Berg cab, but I'll PM you a quote in case you want to grab both items.

My guess is that my "quick" equals your "tight" - I find both the 212 and the 410 to be punchy and well balanced. Ultimately, I think it comes down to what you really prefer. To my ears, 10's and 12's just have different qualities.

I bet they sound great.
Yeah, by tight, I mean not flubby or boomy, but quick with good low note definition (kind of what punchy means in low-mid terms, but extending down to low 'B').

Hmmmm - I'm kicking it old school today! I took in an HT-322 on trade. I'm not sure this one will actually hit the "for-sale" block, I think it's going into my private reserve collection for now. LOL. :)

Of course, this does raise an interesting question. What would be the interest level in an HD-322 cabinet? Keep in mind it's 95 lbs and the size of a 410 cab. I imagine the deters a great number of you in today's bass market... but my gosh this thing sounds great. Please tell me there's still a market for great sounding heavy stuff. Or am I dreaming?

Loved the HT322! A bit of blow-by the knees going on tight stages, but raising it up off the floor about 12" & boosting the low end cures that. Outdoors on a big stage with plenty of power behind it is an awesome experience!

Not for the faint of heart (or back).
