New Bergantino Cabinets!

RocketMusic said:
FYI - Jim just announced a mild price increase that is now reflected on my site. This increase was driven by the escalating cost of materials. Only these cabinets were affected: NV610, NV412, HD112 & HD410.

Not that I would have been hit with the cost increase, but glad I just bought that HD210 from you. Just in case.

I keep reading about these Berg cabs, and I can't help but wonder if my OCD is doing me a huge disservice. I can't force myself to use a head from one manufacturer and a cab from another. Yeah, dumb, I know......

Oh well, my Eden stuff sounds great. I am just really intrigued by everything you guys are saying about these new Bergs........

Dood! Grandpa Munster(ubone) says Eden and Berg = the shizz. And he knows everythang about everythang having played bass since the dawn of time. :smug: His first Roscoe was built with Raptor tooth inlays.:hiding:

There's gotta be somethin' Berg's got with the prices increasing and folks still buyin' em.;)

:D

God Bless, Ray

Eh, it's just me thinkin' out loud, anyway. I'm sure the Eden/Berg combo would sound great, but then, my WT1205/D610XST setup sounds freakin' amazing, too.:smug:

Besides, I'm getting closer to putting a deposit down on another Roscoe order. No spare change to be spent on cabs at this point in time.;)

LOL. I did indeed break out the HD-410 several weeks ago. It's a terrific sounding 410 cab! Plenty of bottom, plenty of clarity. It's a bit looser than my NV-610 cab, but the 610 is sealed. So that's to be expected.

So, compared to the HD212, I'd expect the HD410 to sound a bit punchier & a touch tighter in the lows.
Is that about how they work?

^ Pretty much, but man, that HD410 is a BEAST. Totally the king of the hill of 410 cabs, IMO. It hits HARD, and it hits LOW, and it does so QUICKLY. My guess is that my "quick" equals your "tight" - I find both the 212 and the 410 to be punchy and well balanced. Ultimately, I think it comes down to what you really prefer. To my ears, 10's and 12's just have different qualities.

Hmmm, maybe I will go for the 410.. Not a big fan of twelves normally. I just called the Amp Shop here in Los angeles and they do not carry them so I guess it would have to be bought on faith.. Which is not my preferred method to buy anything.

Thanks, Todd!

And we do offer a 7-day trial period. If you buy it and don't like it, just send it back. All it costs you is the return shipping (which, granted, isn't cheap on a 410 cab - probably $70-$100).

If you generally like a 410 cab, the good news is that I don't think you'll be sending it back. This is indeed a VERY nice 410.

I have a feeling you are correct. I play mostly blues rock using either a vintage reissue 62 P-bass or a CS 64 J-bass both strung with flat wounds so I tend to like a deep, fat, and punchy sound. However, I also am looking at eventually adding a five string to the stable for more modern tones. I'm sure the 410 would be great for that, but the question is can I get both flavors from one cab? It's asking a lot I know, and of course the amp I use will be another factor. I have yet decide what model that will be so any suggestions are appreciated.
