It's arty. I would play one for sure.

Better than a generic-looking bass that everyone has already seen a million times.

This is an anarchist's bass; it's a bass for someone who has no concern over the opinions of others...

It's not for everyone, but it has a place.

I am a little busy right now making ugly/strange/weird basses but I promise in the future I will follow this thread and post if there is any news (like the youtube mentioned earlier)

Why did you use (or make a fender) style headstock? If you where going for something different why not do something different with the headstock. It looks like you just chopped the end off. Just wondering.

First of all if you're gonna make a wild looking bass why would you rip off a Fender headstock and cut the end off. Second the small body looks out of proportion with the headstock and I would think it have major neck dive. Third I wasn't impressed with the sound bit, sounded like any other bass that doesn't cost as much. Forth the knobs look cheap. Anything else you want to ask.

If you like it great, I don't. I'm not the only person here to make fun of that bass.

That's up to the builder, not me. Claiming that it's overpriced, without even having seen one in real life is kinda simple and unfair IMO. The world is full of fender ripped-off headstocks, so I really don't see the problem.

I'd try one if I found it locally, it was a shortscale, weighed less than 5lbs, cost less than $400US, and had a headstock that better matched the body aesthetic and didn't look like a Fender headstock that got partially pushed into a wood chipper.

okay fair enough, but the reason it bothers me is that it's coming from another luthier

imagine if I were to start a thread about one of your instruments (having never heard one, I'm sure they're nice) claiming that whatever price you ask is way too much for a bass

fine, you might not like the headstock, but claiming it's overpriced and ugly is just insulting to a builder, and you being one is what surprises me
