I guess you would like it if suger coated my input. The o.p. asked what do you think and I said what I thought. If you think that I built a ugly bass just say so, my web site is right there on the bottom of my posting. I know what it takes to build a bass and I don't see it on that bass. Spend some time in the Luthiers Corner and watch what those guys build. Their amazing and most guys spend over $500 on parts and wood. Asking $1500 to $2000 for a bass with a ton of work and parts is tough to do. I just don't see it with the Faber, thats all.

I'm with you on this one. He's effectively commenting on a competitor's products. That sort of thing happens alot over on Harmony Central and that place is a bit of a mess. My opinion of course...

Actually, here on TB, you're not allowed insult an instrument, unless you own one, it's a direct rule violation.

For another builder to do it is completly tasteless, and without class.

Then there has been a bunch of violations, it's not like someone bought it and showed it. The op asked what do you think.

In life people make and build things and not everyone likes it, I'm a deck contractor and when I first started I heard good commits and some awful commits. I took the awful commits to heart and made sure my work got better and better. I don't hear awful commits anymore.

You should know that just because I don't like your bass, doesn't mean that I don't support your work. Keep going you've got people that really like it.

Some of these guys here don't understand professional criticism, we can dog on each other and not go to blows. You would think that they had a hand in the building process.;)

Actually I'd like to say something about the headstock. I know, it looks like I mutilated a Fender-type headstock.

And it's true! It's a functional mutilation, though. Just 1 inch less hassle in crowded places and small clubs.

But more than that, it's a statement. It says "I don't want to be like everybody else, here I am, you can gaze at my bass and not understand, but you cannot ignore the great sound that's wetting your girlfriends panties."

Personally I view it as a pragmatic work of art, love it or hate it.
