That’s semi gloss poly on the body, oil on the neck. I see an owl too or as already pointed out an alien. :)

I've gotten a little more done on the tuning setup. I got all of the string retainers built and tapped, housings built ect. I've got to get some 8/32 threaded rod, knurl, turn and tap the brass knobs then I'll final thickness the base, then the bridge/tuner setup should be finished.

The string retainers are on the right, the housings on the left. The one housing that’s out of the bridge shows how the retainers fit in the housings. A piece of 8/32 threaded rod goes into the rear retainer and then runs out of the back of the housing. Then on the backside of the housing a knurled knob screws onto the rod, which pulls the retainer back thus tightening the string. There’s a little more to it but not much, (thrush washers ect) pretty simple really…..:D

Heres a shot with the cover on, the tuner housings will be painted black. (Man I wish I had a little powder coating setup!)

I got all of the brass tuner knobs turned, tapped and knurled. All thats left is to paint the tuner bodys, poly the sapele bridge/base and mount all of the tuner bodys and this setup will be done.

Hopefully I can get the string retainer (at the nut side) built this weekend also.

Quick update, I'm still in the process of building the string retainer. This has been proven harder than normal with this number of strings. I simply have to redesign it so that there is more room for attachment screws.

I finally got the brass string retainer built! Hopefully I will be able to string this baby up tonight… Maybe I'll wire the pup up straight to a jack so I can hear how it sounds too. :hyper:

I still have'nt beveled the retainer where it meets the neck, It needs that and polishing and it will be done.
