Had no intention of getting a new speaker cabinet but due to a recent stroke decided that I would downsize from my 42 pound 2x10 to a smaller 10. I'm still keeping my 1x12 Schroeder. I'm doing better physically, but not going to move 40 pound cabs anymore. Saw GC had this on sale and decided I would try it and bring it home for a closer look with my Mesa D800 and if I liked would sell them my 40 pound 102HF which I've always enjoyed. Was totally NOT impressed at the store and believe it or not, my local GC did not even have an amplifier head to try it out with at the store. Jury rigged a speaker out on a combo to make sure it was working and took it home. Plugged in the Mesa and was blown away at the tone - what sounded nasal and twangy at the store sounded warm and hifi with the "super tweeter". I would have gone for the horn in the "Energy" cab, but this was on sale and honestly I really like the sound and think it compliments the titanium tweeter in my Schroeder. The bottom was tight, the mids not honky and very punchy and the highs (set at -15db) were clean, crisp and clear. I can't explain it and perhaps the stroke has changed my perception, but at 25 lbs and 400 watts I'm really impressed with this cab (weighed it on my scale which differs a bit from the specs as things usually do). There's a lot of plastic here and not sure how it will hold up on gigging, but the tone with my rig was wonderful.
