Hi there, I just wanted to show off my new creation, a bass made from old floor wood I found in the basement of my house, from the original owner. I started this project for practice so, no picture were taken during the build.
End result is a resonant (unplugged) and bright sounding bass (pickup placement does not help.)
- Body and neck are made with 50 years old hard floor wood (maple or cherry wood ?)
- Thin spruce top that was used to protect some fret wire during shipping (because I wanted to see the work involved in adding a top to the body).
- Fanned fret neck (34.5-33 inches scale).
- Asymmetrical neck profile.
- Home made single coil pickup.
- Not too much car for the finish, was to practice different stuff, mostly the multiscale.
End result is a resonant (unplugged) and bright sounding bass (pickup placement does not help.)
