I took my Harley Benton JB75 into my local GC today. I ordered it to see if the Harley Benton's were as good as people claimed. The short answer is yes, they are quite good. Easily on par with the CV line. Unfortunately, the model I got was Ash body...not swamp ash. It weighed 11lbs. 5oz. It was a boat anchor...uncomfortable to play standing or sitting because of the weight.
Fortunately, I got pretty close to what I paid for it (minus the shipping cost) in trade-in value.
I ended up with a Classic Vibe Limited Edition Sonic Blue P-Bass (with matching headstock), and it is awesome!
The fretwork is great, the fretboard is as close to rosewood in look and feel as I have ever seen on these. I took it home, swapped the strings out and set it up how I like it.
Trying to decide if I stick with the stock pickguard or swap it for something funky
