To those who say it needs to be hollow to be a Dano: no. There have been plenty of solid-body Danelectro models, and models without lipstick pickups, and models with shapes other than the three iconic Dano shapes (56 single-cut, 58 longhorn, 59 double-cut), from the original USA Danelectro company, and from the '95+ Evets company.
If Danelectro put out reissues of solid bodies they actually once made, I'd be totally cool with that. (I still don't consider their vintage solid bodies to be the instruments that made them famous or classics.) It doesn't make sense to me for them to remake the Mosrite. I had the same issue with 90's solid bodies that I have for this new one: they weren't Dano-like. They were P-basses and Strats.
EDIT: I just want to add that I have no problem with Danelectro experimenting. Three of my favorite Danos are basses that they didn't make back in the day: DC long scale, Hodad with 3 pickups, and the '63 Bass. They are undeniably Dano-like.
