absolutely true. the idea is not new though. being English i'll bet that they're aware of Quad and their "current dumping" series of amps that have been around since the 70's. just a guess is all, but those Quads employed a very unique design; a high quality but very small and low powered amp that would piggyback itself onto a much larger "big brother" amp, both of which were in the same chassis. just a guess is all, but maybe Vox got some inspiration from it. the last current dumper, the 909, was discontinued last year http://www.whathifi.com/review/quad-909

Great now you are getting there. Alos how about deminsions, I did not see any. On the amps I see one rack space so we know how wide and how tall but how deep?
11 pounds is doable.
The 3x10 cab operates at 6 ohms, while the 2x12 is at 8 ohms. I'm actually going to remove the 2x12 from the site, as they're no longer being made. Thanks for the heads up.

Example: Just glancing around, I found that the description of the 310- 'The Perfect Match' contains the word it's three times, where it should be its.
Then, 'Big sound in a Small Package-' the first sentence is just a mess- it doesn't make sense.
Description of the GSC-212 guitar cab- "The backs have a removable panel for so you can achieve...."

Bringing up the thread to ask a question about gain and output control on these amps.
If their new amplifiers have only a volume control, how can optimal gain be set? Is the gain being adjusted with the same knob?

If it is designed like most other stand-alone power amps, then it only has a gain control. Your preamp signal hits the input buffer, then the gain knob adjusts the level, then the signal hits the actual power amplification stage.
It does raise the point though that this standard system absolutely depends on the preamp having strong enough output to fully drive the power amp. I wish power amps did have an additional gain stage at the input, for interfacing with a wider range of preamps.

Quick question regarding weights...
You have the HBP1-800D listed at 11lbs and the normal HBP1 at 14lbs. Wouldn't the normal HBP1 pre without the power amp weigh less then the HBP1-800D?
