New Dimarzio Ultra J's, dead E and A on bridge pup

I just installed the Ultra J set that comes with the pre-wired control plate. Everything was humming right along, plugged it in, tuned it up, adjusted the pickup heights. Went to neck pup only, sounds great, but when I went to bridge only D and G sound great, E and A are dead.
I went back and checked the wiring on the control plate, all was good. Are there any electrical diagnostic tests I can perform, or other solutions to see if I might have a bad pickup?
