Anyone got a sound clip of the AB2? I know there's a few youtube clips, but they are mostly speaking (which is fine!).
I have some. I'll dig them out and post them.
Oops, the clips I have are of the AB1. Sorry about that.
They share the same pickups and preamp.
I've never been more sad to be so broke..
Sheldon,
The Z3 that Barry is playing for Musik Schmidt sounds fantastic! Do you happen to know which pickup combination/settings he is using on this video?
Sheldon,
Is it just my eyes playing tricks on me, or are the pickups parallel with each other on the LSS?
If so, why are the pickups positioned slightly different on the Z2?
Both the Z2 and the LSS seem to have the two pickups in practically the same exact placement apart from this slight variation. You've really got me curious...
Now, if they could do it in Candy or Capri Orange... I'd be selling a kidney!
Bridge in series, Neck in series, in parallel with each other.
That Z2 photo is a first run edition with Super-Fatties lined up with the harmonics.
The Lee Sklar has the pickups positioned parallel to each other.
All current Z series models have the pickups arranged in parallel formation.
Whoa man, this just isn't your day![]()
Thanks!
I'm hoping Mr. Bowlus might feel inspired to present an Ed Friedland style demo with his new Z3.![]()

Actually, one of my current goals is to bring a lot more video content to BGM reviews, so this may be a possibility. After all, it'd be a legitimate follow-up to my review in issue #2.![]()
