New EHX stuff

Yeah, I have a feeling that the posts on this forum served as great incentive to make the XO Q-Tron, BMS and SEM (even though the DEM is a much better flanger...). So, if they actually make the XO Polychorus, I get to take credit for it. Actually, because I have been pestering about that for over a year, I think I DO deserve credit.

I think it's pretty certain that all the pedals in the big enclosures are going to be getting replaced by XOs in the next year or 2.

I liked the other one, with all the flashy graphics and spinning pictures. I guess this one is easier to navigate.

+1, but I don't quite agree with "easier to navigate."

I almost bought the old Worm the other day, now I'm glad I went with something else! :smug:

...And I'll an XO Graphic Fuzz in with all the other EHX stuff with rows of sliders that always seem to cost a little more than I'm looking to spend.

Edit: I do like how they trying to add a user driven content side. Kinda make up for the weak vid for the BBM (way to sell it short EHX).

Isn't that one the same size as the HOG? And that is not the same size as the big box effects.

Well it's pretty darn close to as big, just differently shaped and just as annoying to try and squeeze onto a pedalboard.

That's true actually. I'm sure they'll keep the production of the special pedals like the HOG and Flanger Hoax then.

I actually suspect that less popular stuff like the FH will get dropped completely once they sell off their stock.

The graphic fuzz is really freaking cool. Definitely like the idea of a band-EQ on an OD/fuzz. The worm I could see being useful in some situations, but personally I can't see a need for the frequency analyzer, especially with a 40 watt pull.

Some things are always going to stay big. The real classic stuff like the Big Muff and the Electric Mistress (Deluxe one) will always be that huge. Same with the memory man.

Guitarists seem to love their big boxes just so they can try and be David Gilmour

I tend to agree, but that's what folks were saying about the BMS as recently as 4 months ago...

But how much smaller is the new BMS? Like an inch tops? To me, that's not a significant enough difference to care. What's great about most of the Nanos and Micros is that the old EHX pedals were way bigger than necessary. But the FH, HOG, 2880, etc. are no bigger than they need to be.

Not me.

Heck, I drew up and posted the "prototype" just to prove they could fit all the sliders on an XO chassis. :D

I guess an EHX engineer must've seen it. :smug:

Actually, it's about 2" less on each side and built with a better switch, stronger chassis, true bypass (IIRC), and no annoying power switch.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's worth it, but if you don't have a BMS at the moment... ;)
