Italian electric upright bass maker MK has released a passive jazz model of their striking EUB.
May 11 2015 - The electric double bass MK mod.JAZZ-P passive(P) is our best production for the solid body sector. The JAZZ passive doesn't put electronics on board so no batteries are discharged. The signal is taken from the output and directly sent to the amplifier.
With this system we have solved many problems on the sound of the double bass, also the signal is free from noise background even at high amplifications.
The piezo transducers are specifically designed for the sound of the double bass, all transducers are strictly manufactured by us.
This model has some frames that faithfully reproduce the shape of the acoustic instrument, they allow you to play the instrument on the tip, the right frame allows you to put the instrument to the chest as the namesake acoustic instrument.
The left frame is essential to support the forearm when playing high notes.
The frames can be easily removed acting on a single handwheel.
Comes supplied a tripod to hold the instrument upright when you are not playing.
The neck and the body are produced from a single piece of solid wood, this to support andconvey the vibrations of the strings to optimize the sound.
The JAZZ model has the tailpiece at the top and mounts bronze mechanics ideal for the double bass frequencies.
The JAZZ model has a resonance soundboard on which rests the bridge (real bridge of the acoustic double bass), for a more structured and complete sound.
We use selected wood of great quality and properties of sound, unique in their kind.
