Just had this pop up on my Facebook feed. Looked for a version that wasn't attached to Facebook, but was unsuccessful.

Looks good in green or blue but I just can't find a red 4-string
They're doing fanned frets, too. Beautiful white 6-string on their Custom page.

Poor micing - it ain't quiet. I'm convinced even the B on the Balor is louder than the E on the Earthwood.

Like a six string bass with an extra high string. It fans from 34 to 32, so those higher strings will be a little lower tension and a little warmer sounding to balance it all out.

However, these Emerald Balors look so nice that I ordered one from Sean at Emerald today: 5 string fretted Balor Artisan with Quilt Maple top and their standard LR Baggs Active System.

Yeah, not a great demo, not great sound, more just that it shows he's impressed, for what that's worth. We do need more good demos for sure!

Nah, I'm a fretless only guy. I just thought Mr. Sheehan would have given more thought to relaying the tone of the instrument.

I'm guessing that's a koa veneer top - they do a special run every month, and there was a batch of Koa tops not that far back.
