The red one is back in stock at SW. I am debating whether I want a 4 or if I want a 5 string Kiloton.
Don’t blink. I lost out on the Embassy i wanted the first time,took about 3 monthes for it to be restocked.
I got one of the Embassy Pros last week from Zz...s. The free 2 day shipping is incredible.
Sadly the bass is headed back. It looked like someone put the wrong sized bridge saddle in the A string position so the A was quite a bit lower than the E or D strings and with this (silly) bridge they're not individually adjustable.
I thought about keeping the bass and just ordering a new bridge piece but after looking online it appears the piece on the embassy is different than the common offerings.
If I order another, I'll definitely buy from somewhere like Sweetwater that will inspect the bass before sending it out.

You shouldn't have told us you wanted that bass. We had a meeting and agreed to take turns buying it out from under you whenever it appeared in your shopping cart.

It comes with coated strings, which feel nice but probably aren't as loud as other strings might be. Unplugged, it might work for a small group (trio, or maybe a quartet of quiet folks), but in a bluegrass jam of 10-12 people, I could barely hear myself (there was another bass to drive the group). But it feels good and looks cool!
I just bought an ivory Embassy Pro with Labella low tension flats. I knew they were backordered when I ordered, and I promised myself I'd be patient.. however, I'm killing myself reading through all the threads and reviews I can find.

I told myself i was getting used to the ss rw strings,(not my usual jam),but i think i’m gonna throw a set of ghs pressurewounds on there,and see what’s up.
Roto Steels have a cool aggressive sound, but they aren't for me. I prefer D'addario nickel rounds. I've been playing the same Labella Deep Talkin' flats for 10 years and I'm interested in trying the new (are they new? I don't keep up on new trends anymore) low tension flats.
Hey, what city do you live in on the Oregon Coast? I used to live in Portland for about 10 years and I miss taking trips out to the coast!
I like kalium hybrid (nickle steel) best for roundwounds. I think the labella low tension flats are relatively new,but i’ve loved the old Rick/Maxima low tension flatwounds for 40 some years,so the concept isn’t exactly new.

Of Brookings which is down South near the Cali-Oregon border. Been here 8 years,and love it. But...it does rain....a LOT...sorta like Portland.
I just had a daydream of a VP T-Bird II (single HB PU) or Embassy Pro II (same idea...single PU in the old TBII spot...)
Oh boy,well i swapped the string set on my Embassy yesterday for a set of 40-96 pressurewounds. Love how easy it was to do,once the string is free from the tuner,the ball end just lifts right out of the tailpiece. Brilliant! But now There’s Quite a drop in string tension over the standard ss set,so i prepare to tweak the trussrod with the nicely provided tool from Epi.
Unfortunately,The rod seems to be totally stuck/immovable. Not being all that adept at this sort of thing,what’s the next step? Spray WD40 into the neck pocket? Put the SS set back on? Send it back to Sweetwater? (Not being able to adjust the tr is a bit troubling.)
I really like the bass,and i can tell i’d like it even better with a different set of strings. I do also have a set of 40-100 Chromes that might provide a bit more tension,but i think this bass would sound best with more of a rw sound. I suppose i could also order a heavier set of pw strings.
Anybody have a similar issue with their trussrods?
