New Epiphone Basses

What mods have you in mind? The pups are said to be pretty good ( ^ upthread ). The bridge does't appear to be replaceable, which leaves the pots, tuners and scratch plate.

I'd love to not have to do any mods, but at this price, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to :)

Picked up my T-Bird Vintage Pro earlier this afternoon and I must say that after having giving it a good going over that I'm impressed with it. Fit and finish are excellent as is the hardware.

Ok, Took the new Embassy out last night along with my 72 4001 and 77 Stingray. and it blew them both away! It really is amazing that this Bass I paid 399 for killed my vintage pieces so bad...
Can't get one of these yet in the U.K., don't come in until 31st December. But glad to see people like them elsewhere. Both a good and bad thing for me,
GOOD: I like it more and more every time I hear about it,
BAD: I'm getting more and more impatient every time I hear about it.

Glad you like your new bass, hope it serves you well.

Anybody know if the Vintage Pro Thunderbird body is exactly the same shape as the Classic Pro? I know that selecting the correct hard case for the various Epiphone models was always a challenge, I'm looking to move from a Classic to a Vintage but keep the case I have if poss!

On their web site, Epi are listing the same case part number for the Vintage Pro, as I bought for the Classic IV, 940-ETBCS.

My Thunderbird Vintage Pro is 51" in overall length, so there will definitely be a very limited number of cases available that it will fit into. It appears that the Epi 940-ETBCS is one of the few but that has yet to be confirmed by actually placing a TVP in one.

My Embassy Pro arrived today. Hoping a better set of strings will increase my appreciation, but it's not doing much for me right off the bat. The positives are it looks great, plays pretty good and if you love super light basses (I'm not so fussy about that) this is certainly crazy lightweight :)
