Double Bass NEW Euphonic Audio iAMP Doubler

The only Doubler I tried had this exact same thing going on when paired with my AMT. It was enough to keep me from buying it as I loved everything else about it.
Pardon my inexperience, but would the Doubler eliminate the need for a Pre Amp (i.e. Plat Pro EQ) for DB?
I have no need for preamp with DB or electric for me it's got great tone for both which is very rare.
I use fdeck's HPF-pre on my DB because I like have phase reverse and HPF on the pickup as well as the mic channel (I've been using both together lately). I run my EB right in the front (occasionally with pedals, but nothing on all the time as a preamp).
If you want EQ control, you'll need to change jumper 3 to have the DI post-EQ. I played two gigs direct before switching it, couldn't figure out why the EQ did so little!

JP4 - Configures the Mute Switch. The Mute Switch always mutes the speaker out. Additionally:
It then goes on to show jumper positions to separately have mute affect, or not affect, the tuner out and the DI output. Each has its own setting.
I openned up the head a few moments ago and I have to say I don't think that I am all that comfortable changing anything myself...
I was the same but it's really easy and very painless! Just move gently and don't force anything!

I'm just about to order a Doubler and want to ask about the HPF. A number of pages back in the thread several TB'ers provided somewhat conflicting information on which channel is affected by the HPF. The last I read-and Mike Denim seemed to confirmed- the HPF affects both channels. I assume this means that-unlike my AI Focus-once the HPF is set, it will affect both upright and electric bass signals if one is doubling on these instruments. I'm just wondering if you (or anyone else reading the thread) could confirm this situation. Quite honestly, I double different basses with the AI all the time and use the HPF very often with upright bass but never with electric bass.
