I'll have one to review along with the new RD for about a month, so I'll try to post some shots and give it a short write up. I'd say since it's a set neck bass it'll more likely be similar to an older Non Reverse Thunderbird.
As of 11/3/2001 it's not due out until 1/20/2012 tho.

Really surprised that you found an Explorer uncomfortable to play. You said it was a guitar (not the bass), and that's even more surprising. Personally, I find my Explorer to be about THE most comfortable and well balanced guitar to play, particularly while playing while sitting down. Maybe the bass would balance differently.
