New Fender Bass amp TB600

I remember he did post a short summary in a thread somewhere... you may have to search a couple of the threads though. also look for any reviews of the Fender TBP-1 preamp, it is the same pre as in the 600 and 1200 heads.

These heads are NOT light compared to the new mini/lightweight heads that most manufacturers are coming out with at the moment. If that is your priority I suggest you look somewhere else but they are not unreasonably heavy either so if tone is more important to you then these may very well be right up your alley

Nothing official, as we never did get anything back from Fender, but I have made a few posts regarding these products. In general, the bench tests which we had done to date showed these amps and cabs to be fairly rated, well-designed, and made from high-quality components. The only real drawback to any of this line, from my point of view, was weight. But if you have a sturdy back, this top-tier line from Fender has a lot to offer.

I just got the TB600C. Man I love it and I am looking forward to trying some different basses through it. Right now I have a custom built bass with passive P+J pickups. And it sounds great but I have the low-end maxed out and its just about right but was hoping for a tad more boom. Probably get it easy with an active bass but also looking into a 1-15 extension cab.

But several years ago I went into a Sam Ash looking for the best sounding combo amp... Played through everything they had there and by far,,, I mean by far! the fender bass combos blew away everything else.

Just ordered the TB600C from Amazon. Not really worried about the weight as this amp will be used primarily for rehearsal and studio work, so it will stay put.

My regular gig rig is a Mesa big Block 750 w/ Mesa 210/115 cabs so I'm used to heavy. All that said, with use of wheels, hand trucks and dollies, even moving my SVT 810 isn't that bad. (But I refuse to take that beast anywhere that stairs are involved.)
