New Fender "Black Top" basses

O.o

I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st.... I do like how the blogger notes that 'the astute observer will note that...' when you can blow the pic up and see... a grainy blur against the black bass... :ninja:

I don't know about the basses, but I picked up a Black Top Strat a couple months ago and have been really impressed with it.

It cost $50.00 less than the Standard MIM's but seems to be a cut above anything else near the price range. Looks great, too.

Just in case anyone's like me and is too lazy to click links....here it is.

I'm with you on that. If the Blacktop concept is as well executed in the bass models as it is with the Blacktop Strats, Jags and Teles, we're in for some pretty nice products.

Looks like a mexi, or MIJ made model...the bridge may be high-mass but it's not string through....or it could be made from the same stock as the american specials, which also are not string thru.

Then again...now that I see the P bass...it looks like it may be a cheap chinese made squier. Those humbuckers aren't exactly the greatest either...imo.
