New Fender "Black Top" basses

I`d love to hear one of the Jazzes. I'm looking for P sound with a J neck. Very intrested in these :)

How much does it sound like a P, that's the question.

Same here buddy. I would like to see a few more reviews and maybe a couple youtube videos. Before I go see if GC or Bass Emporium doesn't have one haha.
Double P Jazz, just may be what I'm craving... I've been really wanting a better jazz lately, maybe this would be more fun.
I wouldn't mind hearing that P either. :smug:

How do you feel about it's build?
Dull spots?

Thanks,
Bob. :)

For the price, very impressive build. I didn't find any dull spots at all. I think I am mostly impressed with the neck and fingerboard. Really fine work. Slim Jazz neck that felt good and solid.
You asked how does it compare to a Jazz sound: Doesn't sound like a Jazz bass at all to me. I only have Maple board Jazz basses though. It sounds like a P bass with a rosewood Jazz neck on it to me. I cannot make a fair P bass comparison because I don't have one, and only had a Steve Harris P bass briefly many years ago (that I forgot about), but it sounds like a P bass to me when the neck pickup is solo'd.

Many questions about it so far. Perhaps just buy it from a place that has a return policy? Most you can lose is about $30 return shipping. In most cases, I would bet it wouldn't be returned. Where else can you get a P bass with the bridge P pickup option, and a slim Jazz neck for less than $500? As long as you prefer rosewood boards, of course.

I've seen a few nice text reviews on the Jazz blacktops but none on the P's. Someone post a youtube video or any kind of soundclip on here as soon as they could. I wish fender would demo there stuff on youtube in the same way that Boss pedals displays there gear...:scowl:
