New Fender Player options on the horizon?

Last month, the player series dropped 15% at Fender and the major retailers

As of today, all the player Ps and Js except sunburst are completely out of stock

I feel like these two things combined with not seeing any big updates on the Player series in years, means we are about to see some new stuff drop

Any ideas? Finish/Wood/Feature wishes for the next iteration?

I guess the player series will end and be replaced with a whole new line of similar models but with a diferent name and the same but also diferent colours. And it will be called Player II or Standard II or whatever new amazing name they'll come up with.

Hoping for some new Mustang PJ colours. Been itching to buy one, but I'm not particularly attracted to brown, brown or brownish gold.

I guess new Player II with announce soon... just curious... what upgrade or change on Player II .

From my previous 2007 MIM Std till 2019 Player, the only change are headstock decal , from CTS pot to cheaper pot, from ceramic to alnico V, glossy front headstock, rosewood to pau ferro, more color option.... and, price increase.

Hopefully the Player II has roll fretboard edge like Player Plus , sculpted neck heel, no-load pot or TBX pot as stock tone pot , sweeter sounding alnico V pickups, slightly brownist/yellowist neck/fretboard tinted on maple fretboard neck.

Also provide black, Mint and Tort as stock pickguard with matching body colour from factory. Like tort on Red/rosewood, Black on black/maple, Tort on LPB /rosewood, Mint on Daphne blue/maple , tort on olym white/rose wood, black on olym white/maple ......blah blah blah

The most important part are QC , hopefully FMIC provide same QC as great as 2008-2018 China Squier Classic Vibe production ! And..... no price tag change ~ $679.99

I dare to say FMIC won't make above wishlist dream come true....

The sienna is my favorite of the current offerings, but I just can't get over the non-mustang bridge on there!

Whatever they do, they must tighten their QC. I.ve tried about a dozen of MIM Fenders lately, and at least half of them had fretwork problems (sprout, high frets, poorly cut nut).

The satin-finish on the neck is also very nice. No QC issues on mine. Main negative issue is the pup selector switch location: tends to throw itself on your thigh or pantleg when you play seated. I may wind up replacing it with a detented knob as others have done, since I play seated a lot.

I would've also preferred a "string-through" bridge, but that's a very minor annoyance and I'm already "over it". Given the position of the "J" pup, a string-through bridge would've been an awfully tight squeeze and might not have wound up looking that good as a result.

The Squire CV 70's neck is nearly as deep as the original 70's necks were. Why oh why dont Fender do this too and in RW? I love my CV but its mapel and not Fender. I would love see good ole 70's Mocha or Transparent Wine with rosewood boards and the deep neck profile which is so comfortable and I think improves the P bass tone. Thats the true 70's vibe.
