That's like putting fuel injection, anti-lock brakes, and GPS in a Model T and calling it modern.
Anybody seen the Fender "pawnshop" version of the Squier '51? Took a great little guitar with cult status off the market so they could rebadge it and turn a bigger profit. The only thing "pawnshop" about that is, instead of someone sticking a Fender decal on a Squier and selling it out of a shady shop, Fender has eliminated the middleman.
