New Fender Vintera II Road Worn Basses

I stumbled on this by accident. Looks like a few sites and sellers on reverb have a vintera II road worn P bass listed. I see a fiesta red one on reverb, and a charcoal frost on gear tree. Maybe these are new and got listed ahead of schedule? Looks to be a good Pino and Sean Hurley alternative given the color options...

Charcoal Frost is a great color choice. Interesting that these don't look road worn in the photos. It would be nice if they went really light with the wear.

I’m actually really liking those colors, but those prices are pushing it a bit. I curious to know if they will release Road Worn Vintera Jazz basses? They haven’t released any 70s style Jazz basses with the new Vintera II or American Original basses, so I’m hoping something is released in that regard.

That charcoal frost is pretty dreamy. It's price just convinced me to keep my American Standard P forever.

Something else to add to my obsession of acquiring a vintage type P bass like an AVII to acquire a vintage feeling P with frets after my early kid modding and destruction of a perfectly fine 62 P bass trying to keep up with my obsession with the great San Francisco bassists and Alphonso Johnson

I’m all for these, especially if they do a road worn jazz. The listing for the charcoal frost bass says it includes a hardshell case, so that puts it in line with the flea roadworn jazz bass pricewise… the road worn basses I’ve owned and played have all been a cut above the regular Mexican versions in fit and finish, and especially weight. If you can live with the relived finish, I think they are exceptional basses even for $1600.

Compared to earlier road worn models, this is the B in subtle.

The price is pretty crazy, but the nitro should age nicely, given a helpful start from the light relic they've put on the arm contour, and the money zone of the neck (although there's also an almost identical area of wear up at the dusty end, which seems a little inconsistent).

The big question is why can Fender put that kind of tort on the Am Pro II?

Ha, yeah I get you with the mind boggling at how prices have increased so much... I looked into the mod shop and you can't specify any sort of vintage specs on anything. Can't choose neck radius, width, fret size... you just have to pay more for vintage specs on any Fender. That has been the case since the 90s as far as I can remember. Any vintage series instrument is always more expensive than whatever the modern equivalent is. Obviously they don't sell as many of the vintage spec instruments, but it still kind of blows. That said, I think the mexican Fenders can be really high quality, and when you find a good one, quite the bargain if it fits your needs.

Yeah I’m not seeing a lot of wear in those pictures… some slight ugly looking scratches on the forearm are of the charcoal one, which look like they are drawn on? I’m starting to think these aren’t real ha ha

Saw it and love it, gonna be hard to resist that one. Player II series in general checks most of my boxes EXCEPT colors, for the most part. The shell pink is a welcome addition.

The Vintera II RW makes sense, they used to have a few Mexican Classic Laquer series models, this seems basically that plus the RW aspect.

In 2008,FMIC been make an awesome quality Squier Poor Man Pino P for us with $299 . now a day, FMIC offer us another Poor Man Pino P but $1599 !

And i found the relic-work only shown on neck and tuning machine.

If yes, suggest grab the Roadworn 50s P neck to match your any Fender or Squier P body for who wanna spend less ......

The old day 2008's Roadworn P and J has serious build as Poor Man Custom Shop !

I guess this new Vintera Roadworn 60sP keep using Vintage Tall Fret like normal Vintera II line. Unlike the Vintera 1 and old classic/roadworn series which come with real thin low fret for correct vintage period.
