New Fender Vintera II Road Worn Basses

I just picked up the fiesta red version from guitar center in Richmond VA. Right when I walked in the store I was drawn to it and I have to say it’s pretty nice. I took it straight to a gig in Charlottesville last night and played it the whole time. It feels great. The pickup is on the darker side which I don’t mind at all. Fender nailed the feel of an older p bass with this one especially when I pick up my American pro ii after playing it. I will say that there are some minor details on the fret edges that need a tiny bit of cleaning up but other than that I honestly think it’s worth the money. I’ll never be able to afford a Pino custom but this gets you most of the way there.

I just placed an order for the Charcoal Frost P. Somewhat of an impulse buy but I think it will pair well with my Am Pro II P and my Tony Franklin P.

I ended up with a pretty fun wood grain on the back of the neck of mine. It's always the luck of the draw on mass-produced basses. The next one made and shipped to another store might have had little grain pattern showing.
