new flea bass

The goal of producing a quality, playable, simple and affordable instrument to encourage kids to take up music is laudable indeed. I also welcome any budget instrument to the market that doesn't need any modification right off the bat to be gig worthy. Having said both of those things, I personally don't care for any of the color schemes besides black and white. Even so, I think this is a very worthy project for Flea and I applaud it.

Before I participated in any "old guy with money" snobbery, I checked out the site for fleabass. I'm down with the concept. I probably won't buy this bass, but I like the concept, especially that a guy with endorsement opp.s out the wazoo is going exclusive with a bass to support a non-licensed product and a school that makes music instruction available without letting funds get in the way. I will refrain from snobbery just this once.

I ove Flea (fingerstyle work), but this bass gives kids like me a bad name! Like i would actually play one of these! Seriously, i think Flea was drunk when he desigened this. The whole thing just reeks of low quality: look at the glued PG. vFunny thing is, he said in an interview he didn't want to deviate too far from the Jazz bas; he pretty much deviated as much as possible. And its supposed to be a good instrument for students at an affordable price; like my cheapskate parents would spen $ 500 bucks! I just don't like the basic premise beheind these things.

Besides that, applause for Flea! :D
