I am getting both light and standard five and six string sets. I also have single high c and single low b strings to complete custom sets or e-c tuning sets.

I bought a new Boulder Creek Fretless 5er A/E-BG last fall. They are very nice basses but I realized I would never use it unplugged. Tho I did a little bit of practicing with my PC speakers and BC bass unplugged; worked ok.

My point is that I took those hard@zz bronze strings it came with off and used some D'Ad Nylon Tapes on it. WOW! It made the BC bass come alive and the black tapes looked sharp on the spruce top bass.

I'm actually glad my BC bass showed up with abit darker colored top than the much lighter colored "natural" top I saw a pic of. Agin very nice looking and playing basses. I may buy another down the road. I returned my Boulder Creek bass and bought a Godin Fretless A5 Ultra.

The Godin is serving my purpose much better in a band situation. I'm replacing the Chromes that came on my A5 with these White Nylons and expect very good results as I got with the Tapes on the BC. Enjoy the bass & strings. :bassist:

I received my set,and decided to put them on my (fretted4) Italia Rimini. First of all,love the feel of these,the lighter gauge is perfect for me. I have a set of Fender tapes on my Yamaha fretless,and the e string sounds very "plastic",the Labellas do not have that issue,just very smooth,but with a nice zing to them as well. I went from having GHS flats,which were a bit more percussive and "barky" sounding,but i really like the sound and feel of the Labella's. i think these would make excellent strings for a fretless,so i am going to be getting another set soon.

Got my light set and put them on my Boulder Creek. Love the feel and was a little surprised with the tone. It was more like my bronze strings had been dipped in nylon. They had that brightness without the finger noise. lets see what happens after a few weeks of breaking in time. I would like to see them mellow a little but still like them even if they don't. Anyway they have definitely replaced my favorite acoustic strings...TI Acousticores.

Are the black tapes also made by putting the nylon wrap over a stainless steel string? I tried them once, but they were to dark.

I'd like to hear what these white ones sound like on a brighter bass with a maple board or something.
