New from La Bella! Tapewound Content!

Just received the 60 -115 set and I'm glad that I chose the heavier gauge. They are still fairly flexible but much more tolerable to me than TI's or DR Silver Stars (coated Sunbeams).
The clear wrap feels much better than the coating on the Silver Stars IMO.
I put them on my Sandberg TT4 jazz and I had to file out the "nut" to take the bigger sizes (the Sandberg has a zero fret).
I love the sound - sort of like a old school round but with no overtones and more thump. I usually take 2 basses to gigs, one with rounds and one with flats. I think I could just take this bass with the clear tapes and it would cover all of our material.
I'm tempted to buy more sets for my other basses but I'll hold off for a while until they have a few gigs under their belt.

Okay, got the set two days ago, first impressions:

1. Tension: super low

2. Tone: to die for

The low tension kind of surprised me. I had to raise the action a bit even after TIs which are known for their low tension. Still they don't somehow feel sloppy in the same way as TIs, maybe it's because of the thicker gauge. Low tension and and smooth surface makes these strings very easy to play.

Tone is absolutely beautiful. Very full and balanced, warm sound without being muddy. Feels like these strings are really combining the zing and punch of rounds and the thump of flats in the best possible way. Sound is closer to upright sound than any flats or rounds I've tried. Very nice, my new favorite strings!

I put a set on my 4 string Boulder Creek acoustic and got the same results. Have had them for 2 months and like them even more. After going through 3 other acoustics the Boulder Creek is by far my favorite. Adding the Labella's took it to another level.

I received my Labella white nylon, light gauge 34 inch strings and fitted them onto my Jack Casady bass. Because of the light tension, I made set-up adjustments to the bridge.
It had been over 30 years since I tried tapewound strings. As promised, these strings were brighter than other tapewounds, and they are beautifully made and polished to be very smooth - as smooth as Pyramid flats. They are bendable and the fingering reminded me of T-I jass flats.
They are just not my cup of tea. First, I often play where the wiring is not well grounded, and I found that unless I touched the bridge there was a hum and slight buzz that I don't get when touching metal strings.
Secondly, they sounded like dead good roundwound strings.
Nothing wrong with the strings, though. Just not my kind of thing. Live and learn.

Hey guys,
A couple of you mentioned putting the White Nylons on 7-strings. What did you use for the high F string??? I am using a Warwick Alien fretted 6-string ABG sometimes unplugged with an acoustic guitarist and plan to tune E-F. I also am afraid they won't be loud enough. The bronze on there now are.

If not has anyone experience with both?
Wondering about tone, flexibility, and tension comps.
